This map tells me two things – 1) That Columbus comprises more Cleveland transplants than Cincinnati transplants, and 2) We really should give Toledo back to Michigan.

Ohio still needs Toledo. It eases the Cincinnati-Cleveland tension you observe. A tension, by the way, that has traditionally produced political swings that keep state offices from getting too ensconced one way or the other, unlike, say, New York or Illinois.
As for baseball, your map of Indiana would reveal the strong out-of-state pulls on the populace.
